Intermolecular forces between H 2 S, H 2 Se and H 2 Te molecules are purely Van der Waal’s force of attraction while in water there is stronger H-bonding between the water molecules. H-bond is stronger than Van der Waal's force of attraction and thus more energy is required for converting H 2 O( λ ) to (H 2 O)(g).
